The Great Notch Fire Company is located at the eastern tip of Little Falls Township and is one of four fire companies which reside in the Township. We are an all volunteer company which has been in existence since 1929. We cover a very diverse area, covering portions of Route 46, All of Montclair University that lies in the Township, and the entire community of Great Notch on a first due basis as well as the remainder of the Township and several additional municipalities through mutual and automatic aid. Our first due area is very busy with the local industry, high traffic Volume along the route 46 Corridor and includes unique challenges such as limited access highways, numerous businesses, and a park, school, a college university, a baseball stadium, an Ice skating complex, Apartment/Condo complexes, commuter railroad, as well as numerous residential housing and High Rise structures. All wrapped in our close knit community. We pride ourselves on having a well maintained fleet of well equipped apparatus and a strong base of active members who ensure that all calls for service are answered to the best of our abilities every time. If you are interested in becoming part of our team, feel free to stop by the station at 170 Long Hill Road on Sunday mornings and pick up an application. Our stop by with the Kids and show them our fire apparatus, you are always welcome at our house.
